DIY Quilted Jacket
I’ve wanted to make a quilted jacket for forever. And… I finally did! Sewing this quilted jacket into shape was one of the most challenging, yet rewarding creative experiences I’ve had yet.
DIY Quilted Jacket
I saw these Southwestern fabrics in a quilt shop, and was immediately inspired. I scourged the internet for a free quilt pattern until I found one that would capture the same essence as the color and detail of the patterns, while still allowing the fabric to take centerstage.
I’ve never constructed a jacket before. In fact, the only other garment I have constructed is a workshop apron. So, deciding to construct my first true garment AND custom piece the entire top was a daunting task but I had a vision. Completely learning on the fly with blogs, books, and Youtube videos, I was able to whip up this jacket in my spare time within 2-3 weeks.
You can make one too! Here’s how I did it.
